NASA Video Game Brain Training for ADHD

Mental Dexterity

The purpose of my community is to create awareness and educate my members about the positive effects of video games within the brain. I will inform the members how the video game market has expanded to include people of all ages and abilities and how they can start to gain Mental Dexterity through fun games!

Great Website The Educational Arcade has a similar purpose to my own community.
Their Purpose:

The Education Arcade explores games that promote learning through authentic and engaging play. TEA’s research and development projects focus both on the learning that naturally occurs in popular commercial games, and on the design of games that more vigorously address the educational needs of players. Our mission is to demonstrate the social, cultural, and educational potentials of videogames by initiating new game development projects, coordinating interdisciplinary research efforts, and informing public conversations about the broader and sometimes unexpected uses of this emerging art form in education.

Education Arcade projects have touched on mathematics, science, history, literacy, and language learning, and have been tailored to a wide range of ages. They have been designed for personal computers, handheld devices and on-line delivery

Can you guess what this is made from?

Organelle Design

Alex and Courtney (Organelle Design) are passionate about creatively repurposing off-the-shelf products and found objects. They presented their work at Pecha Kucha a few days ago and it was the highlight of the evening. The entire place erupted with cheers when images of their chandeliers made out of clothes hangers appeared on screen.

I found this on BOOOOOOOM, a design community built by Jeff Hamada from Vancouver

I couldn't believe that these were made from recycled hangers. This reminded me of the bottle-hanger, Owen had talked about in class. These look so elegant for such an ugly hanger. I love the direction of this design. Giving new use and ideas to old products or junk we all have collected at some point.

new ketchup!

After 40 years, Heinz revamps ketchup packets

Could this be REAL?

Matthew Albanese has created some AMAZING photos. I stumbled upon his work These have not been edited in Photoshop, these are real photos taken of mini environments!
Here is a quote from his Behance site :

"My work involves the construction of small-scale meticulously detailed models using various materials and objects to create emotive landscapes. Every aspect from the construction to the lighting of the final model is painstakingly pre-planned using methods which force the viewers perspective when photographed from a specific angle. Using a mixture of photographic techniques such as scale, depth of field, white balance and lighting I am able to drastically alter the appearance of my materials."

Here are some behind the scene photos

I love this idea! It reminds me of a highschool project where I had to recreate a mini Bog. haha Good times..

Cell phone dead? Spin this to recharge!

Fully Analog Cellphone Charging

This Mechanical Cell Phone is by Mikhail Stawsky This phone can be spun around the finger to recharge the battery. I really like this concept. All you need is a little energy that you create and it is translated to the cellphone. Beautiful concept and Design!

I found another interesting design that used solar energy. The design incorporated a sticky suction over the solar panel to adhere to windows for ultimate sun exposure.

Sticky Phone

I think this is a great direction In electronic design but this is impossible to charge at night

Two Cushions + Wire Frame = Perfect Seat

On De Zeen's Website, I found this beautiful chair.

Frame Sofa by Hyung Suk Cho

I love this new simple take on chair structure. Very Simple but the design holds a bold elegance.

I have always loved Furniture Design so i researched further...

And found a very weird yet comical stool
That doubles as a deer head to hang on the wall. hahaha :)
This came from Jeroen Wesselink a dutch designer.

I think this is a clever idea. It gave me a new outlook on useful design.

Reinvented Teabags

I found a website called TOXEL from Stumbleupon.com. Under inspiration I discovered a creative new angle on Tea bags. I think these are clever ideas and some are very eye catching! For example the Cigarettea caught my eye and made me further investigate.

I found a connecting link leading to Graphic Designer Jeeyun Michaella Chung's web site. She is London based and just graduated in '08.There I found an alphabet made out of paper airplanes, Entitled Spaceship Two Type face and it looks a little something like this:

There is a book available for purchase. Every letter has directions for a different paper airplane. Some sweet origami projects that are fun to throw around.
